Working hours

  • full-time

Responsibility

  • our fleet comprises Scania, Volvo, DAF & Renault and we also look after a good number of other operators’ vehicles
  • perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
  • diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
  • conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs
  • we are a small family haulage business, established in Marshfield, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, nearly 90 years ago. We run our vehicles with passion and pride and tackle pretty much anything on wheels
  • keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
  • due to the retirement of our current mechanic, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic HGV mechanic who is looking for a varied role including a full range of servicing, safety inspections, MOT prep and general maintenance

Requirements

  • proven experience as a mechanic or similar role
  • strong knowledge of automotive systems and components
  • proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams
  • excellent problem-solving skills
  • attention to detail and precision in workmanship
  • good communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and customers
  • HGV mechanical: 5 years
