Requirements
- bachelor's degree preferred
- background in education, sciences, psychology, or counselling is an asset
- experience working with children in group/camp settings
- energy, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn new lessons and activities to engage diverse groups of children & youth
- excellent communication skills that demonstrate professionalism
- strong organizational, time-management, teaching, and behaviour management skills
- A flexible mindset. You're able to adapt to changing situations, communicate, and innovate in a wide range of settings
- knowledge of other languages especially mandarin and cantonese are an asset
Responsibility
- training and planning for the position will begin prior to your after school program start date
- implementing program specific lessons, leading recreational activities/games , and supervising all participants
- creating a safe, fun, interactive learning environment that stimulates every child's creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
- managing classroom behaviours and providing support to children experiencing difficulty settling in
- timely communication with the supervisors and staff, school and venue partners and parents is vital
- responsible for the successful facilitation and Instruction of Dolphin Kids programs during our Camp and after-school programs for children ages 5-9 years
- some administrative work as required
- planning and organising oneself to ensure that all program essential materials have been communicated and are available or procured as needed for the class
