our team help them seek permanency in the UK and help them to register into the education system and/or seek employment
the young people live in our properties in Exeter
our support staff provide 24/7 support to help them develop independence skills for a better future
these skills may include cooking, housekeeping, laundry, shopping and budgeting
we are proud to support Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children , many who have fled war-torn countries, or areas that have suffered extreme poverty or natural disasters
each young person follows a "Pathway Plan" whereby every positive outcome is documented to support their asylum application, including their health/medical records, improved language skills, educational achievements, and social outcomes
Requirements
management / supervisory experience within children's services
experience of leading, managing and motivating a team, ensuring effective performance management to fulfil organisational objectives
knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities in relation to Children and Young People in care
ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and issues in a political context
good communication skills and inter-personal skills, including written and presentation skills
level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management or prepared to work towards this qualification, funded by Fusion
ability to travel across the South West and flexibility to work evenings and weekends, when necessary
