we urgently require Youth Support Workers who can support a young person
due to safe-guarding issues the applicant must be female
freedom Care are looking for creative, energetic, positive youth workers who can help support a young person with ASC and mental health needs who requires guidance and support to engage in education and access activities in their local community
the role will be a minimum of 6 months contract to support the same young person
the role is in Weymouth, therefore we are looking for local staff so they can be flexible and accommodating with the changing needs and requirements of the role
experience of emotional, mental health, trauma informed practice and behavioral disorders essential
Requirements
you should be able to “get alongside” the young person to role model and guide them
you should be a driver and have use of a car for this role
freedom offers full training however safeguarding, food hygiene, first aid and de-escalation training would be
you should have experience of working with young people aged between 14 and 25 who are Neurodiverse, display challenging behaviours and have mental health challenges
ideally you should have a level 3 in health and social care or a qualification that would be aligned with the role and have transferable knowledge
advantageous. You should have a DBS on the update system although we can also support you in applying for this. Mandatory training applies to this role once completed you will move from the starting rate of £15 per hour to £18 per hour
