Responsibility

  • we are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Deputy Manager for our Outstanding, Reggio Emilia inspired nursery
  • collaborate closely with the nursery manager to ensure the smooth operation of our Reggio Emilia inspired nursery
  • foster a stimulating and nurturing environment that encourages children's natural curiosity, creativity, and exploration
  • demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach, and consistently apply this philosophy to enhance children's learning experiences
  • lead and inspire our team of diverse staff members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their continuous professional development
  • work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to maintain effective communication and build strong relationships
  • this is a full time and permanent position and will also include the covering of the maternity leave of our substantive manager
  • oversee daily operations, including planning and implementing activities, maintaining a safe environment, and adhering to relevant regulations and policies

Requirements

  • A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an early years setting, preferably in a Reggio Emilia inspired environment
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with staff, parents and external stakeholders
  • strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • A reflective and proactive approach to professional development, keeping up-to-date with current research and best practices in early childhood education
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equality within the nursery setting
  • A deep understanding of how children learn through their interests and fascinations, and the ability to consistently facilitate learning through this approach
