Responsibility

  • ford & Etal is still owned by the Joicey family
  • we are looking to recruit a Sawmill Operative / Machine Operator for our busy Sawmill
  • the position requires a good working knowledge of machinery including forklifts, tractors, Hiab crane and band saws
  • ford & Etal Estates is a large traditional but forward-looking rural estate in North Northumberland with a very strong sense of community
  • the Estate is based around the two small villages of Ford and Etal, formerly separate estates that were brought together under the ownership of the 1st Lord Joicey in 1908
  • there will also be involvement in other aspects of the Forestry and Estate maintenance departments
  • A self- motivated driven individual, Good Communicator able to work within our small workforce as a team player to Intergrate in to our productive, efficient and safe working enviroment
  • good knowledge of the timber and Sawmilling sector is also desirable, however applicants with relevant experience from other sectors such as manufacturing or production will be considered
