Requirements

  • ability to maintain written records, write reports and keep cash records
  • understanding of residential child care
  • ability to work under stressful conditions
  • at least 2 years experience of working with young people with learning disabilities aged 12-18yrs
  • ability to relate to residents within and outside the establishment in a tactful way
  • experience of supervising junior staff members
  • practical care skills

Responsibility

  • to ensure that complaints are dealt with promptly, professionally and sympathetically in accordance with the Company’s complaints policy
  • to ensure that the service comply with regulations in respect to Health and Safety at Work, environmental health, fire precautions, etc and abide by Footsteps Care policies and procedures
  • provide leadership, support and supervision to the Care Team, promoting high morale, team spirit and professionalism
  • ensuring care for all service users is individualized and safe
  • to ensure that standards required by registering authorities and other statutory regulatory bodies are met
  • to keep up to date with current issues and promote good practice
  • review and assist with preparing monthly progress reports for purchasing authorities
