- you will be required to operate machinery, including hedge cutters, mowers and various hand tools as and when needed
- contacting clients to inform them of new developments in the company’s products/services
- manage staff for the project
- determine what other materials and/or equipment are required to fulfil the works
- independently define all risks, and create and implement solutions to problems and issues as they arise
- act as a liaison to senior management and the Directors
- operate equipment in accordance with experience and training and showing other team members how to use the tools correctly
- negotiating and re-negotiating – by varied communications channels e.g., phone, email and in person
- determine what additional labour is required to fulfil the works
- independently identify, define and implement contract revisions and improvements in accordance with normal procedures
- creating bills of materials for manufacture
- promote and maintain an environment of continuous improvement
- conduct basic practical training and mentoring sessions with new and existing staff members
- developing and meeting sales goals and targets
- ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
- place orders on US manufacturer and other suppliers and/or subcontractors
- amending and updating existing drawings
- support the company in production planning and pre-commencement activities to ensure contracts are adequately resourced, within their budgets
- effectively manage performance and promptly raise shortcomings with the head of grounds and landscaping
- networking and attending events to identify leads and expand the company profile
- check design documents with architects, surveyors and engineers
- assist with the development and issue of RAMS
- organise and maintain contract files
- attending site to carry out site surveys
- ensure Health and Safety compliance at all times
- working with other departments to identify opportunities with existing clients
- promote and maintain health and safety to our ISO45001 Standards, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
- liaise with customer to arrange site installation dates
- ensure timeliness of all contract actions including DCAs, contract summaries and contract close in a complete and timely manner
- managing projects when needed
- control by managing all aspects of production through the companies managerial, supervisory, and ancillary staff both operationally and commercially, ensuring health and safety requirements are met
- plan and coordinate a project from start to finish, including organising the schedule of work, and working alongside Quantity Surveyors for costings and budget
- ensure work instructions / schedules are issued to staff and to verify completion of works
- utilise our Construction Software Procore to write reports, Issue RFI, Observations etc
- receive incoming goods from US manufacturer and other suppliers and check for accuracy against corresponding orders and quotations
- keep team leads and/or managers appraised of current issues and their mitigation/resolution
- assisting clients and engineers with telephone support
Requirements
- knowledge and experience of sales within a service industry
- proven experience as Construction Contracts Manager
- typical minimum of 7 years experience in a similar role, with contracting experience. MCIPS or studying to achieve MCIPS
