Responsibility
- general Manager- The Elephant and Castle – Wheathampstead – St Albans
- we are looking for a general manager to take over and carry on the excellent work the previous management team have undertaken in transforming this beautiful old building into a thriving gastro pub experience – a pub that has now been in the top 5 for “Best Country Pubs” two years in a row
- we are looking for a high calibre candidate with a real passion for food – whilst also understanding that the traditional pub feel must be maintained
- weekly financial reporting
- train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
- manage new employees onboarding e.g. documentation, training, uniforms
Requirements
- 2 years absolute minimum of managerial experience in a restaurant/gastropub setting
- 2 4 years minimum experience in a supervisory/team leader role in a hospitality setting
- key responsibilities
- uphold the high level of service whilst maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere that is expected at the Elephant and Castle
- writing rotas
- encouraging the team to take pride in their work and provide high levels of service to our guests
- to stay on top of every guests requests and look for opportunities to go above and beyond
- effectively manage guests complaints and escalate if needed
