It is unacceptable that Leigh Everlast are charging a membership fee but yet for three days this week there are no classes, not one for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Plus the other days in the week the classes have been reduced in number.
Added to that, the spa pools are boarded up. The equipment and machines are faulty. The place is unhygienic filthy and there is no air conditioning.
I have asked for a refund and the response by staff was unprofessional rude ignorance.
I will be taking my money elsewhere.

No classes for three days because all the instructors are away at the same time with no stand in, and one sacked for misconduct.
No air conditioning in 30 Celsius heat with no ventilation windows and a tin roof.
Multiple faulty machines out of use.
Old useless equipment.
The gym and pool area are absolutely filthy. A health hazard.
Gone downhill and nothing is being done to rectify.
As a member, I am no longer paying the membership fee. It’s not worth it.

At 8:50am on Saturday, we asked if we could use the Studio, as for a number of weeks a dozen members have used the room and equipment to work out together. The Studio, is the one gym area that has working air conditioning, as the main gym area hasn’t had working air-con for several month and what was supposed to be a temporary solution of distributing several extractor fans doesn’t work, but add into the mix the 30 degree heat outside hitting a tin roof only exacerbates the health risk to members.

We were told by who we later found out was the Sales Mgr, that they’d been given strict instructions that the room couldn’t be used, and that room should be off limits as we’re not trained to use the equipment. The equipment being dumbbell’s, barbells and mats?!?

When we questioned that it’s always been available for use, they went on to say that it’s all set up with tables for an event.

In that case we asked could we take the equipment out, which they replied that all the equipment was actually already set out to be used.

On enquiring as to what time the room/equipment was being used, they told us that it would be within the next 30 minutes. We queried this as the material advertising the event stated it commenced from 11am, and explained that as per the previous weeks we only needed the room/equipment for 50 minutes.

At this point we asked to speak to a Manager, only to be told they were the Sales Manager. We explained that we’d like to speak to the Manager, the Sales Mgr proceeded to then tell us it was their own decision to not allow us access and it was final, therefore speaking to the Manager would make no difference! This was baffling, as the Sales Mgr had already said that they’d been given clear instructions and was just following them?!?

The Sales Mgr, then went on to say that it was just this week, and next week we could use the room/equipment no problem. This again was confusing, so we questioned the inaccuracies, and this is when the Sales Mgr tried to gas light us by saying we were aggressive. At this point I called them out on the poor behaviours and told him that I want my telephone number passed to the Manager.

The Sales Mgr replied they were the only Manager in that day. However, the Asst Mgr later told us that they'd been there all morning.

After the group workout had finished, approx. 9:55 we saw the Sales Mgr & Asst Mgr heading towards the Studio. On investigation we identified that the room was not set up and none of the equipment was out, it was all stored away where we’ve always collected it from.

We were then told by a P.T. that the room couldn’t be used as they have an event going on later today, and the floor had been cleaned so we couldn’t use the equipment. This seemed very strange, as there are numerous back to back sessions and the floor/equipment is never cleaned between them taking place.

After this point, who we later found out to be the Asst Mgr asked could they sort out the issue. When we tried to explain that we’d been given conflicting information, we were continually interrupted. On trying to explain that how could we put our point across when they are displaying this behaviour, the Asst Mgr continued to overtalk.

As by this point I was feeling attacked and beginning to feel embarrassed by their conduct, because there were other gym members watching their disgusting outburst towards myself and another gym member/paying customer. I then stated that I didn’t want to speak to them, and that I would like to speak to the Manager and commenced to walk away. It was only at this stage they announced they were the Asst Mgr whilst shouting it across a crowded reception area.

The Asst Mgr’s rude/obnoxious behaviour came to a head when I continued to insist that I could no longer speak to them and that I would only speak to the Manager. as the Sales Mgr had to drag the Asst Mgr away.

I find the Managements conduct to be totally unacceptable, I’m uncertain as to whether it’s because they’re untrained, inept or outright liars (perhaps a mixture of all three) but to treat a group of people never mind members that have a combined custom at this gym for over a 100 years to be absolutely deplorable and distasteful.

Bullied by insignificant people at Everlast Gym in Leigh. Disgusting unhinged behaviour.

The only thing keeping this gym from going out of business is the government paid free passes to refugees. But yet the rest of us have to pay a membership for a deteriorating gym.

Imagine being a man who's personality is to spread hate about a gym he no longer attends and state all he needed was an apology. No you got consequences to your actions. No apology is due to you.

But great job on proving to people how unhinged you are. It's working fantastically against you. Bravo!!!!!

Machines are old, and quarter of them are out of order not usable. The equipment is old and tattered. The mats are paper thin useless. Air conditioning has been out of use for several months. Both Jacuzzis are boarded up out of use. The gym needs a deep clean as there is months of built up dust in some areas, and on the machines.
Management are not interested in genuine complaints, or constructive criticism for improvements.
The sound music system is terrible and far too loud.
Health and safety had to do an emergency inspection and there will be more in the future. I am told.
Nothing is improving, so I have ended my membership.

I’ve never known a gym with so many machines out of use with signs stating “Out of order” on them until I came to this Leigh gym. It is taking months to get them repaired if ever.
Sort it out, Everlast!

Miserable unhelpful staff that don’t even acknowledge your presence most of the time. They are too busy scrolling on their mobile phones.

Very concerning stalking behaviour from some of the women towards men at this gym.
One woman followed me to my car numerous times and when she saw me sat in my own vehicle listening to music in the car park she would open the car door to talk to me. The same woman would send me voice recordings every day laughing and joking. She even invited me to go for a walk but luckily I never went because I’m not interested.
Always friendly, never a bad word said between me and the woman and nothing to cause any concern at all but yet the same woman, now claims that she’s been stalked and harassed by me simply because she couldn’t get her own way.
She claimed she was asked out on a date when in fact she never was. She claimed she was followed when in fact she never was. She claims that I tried to FaceTime her, but yet the phone number she showed was not my phone number and has zero connection to me or anyone I know.
Zero evidence to back up her delusional state.
Any woman that gets followed would record it on their phone or there would be CCTV footage from the gym but there is none. Any woman receiving phone calls would show a digital footprint, but yet there is none.
Everlast did nothing in supporting me, in fact they fabricated a story to suit the woman’s delusion.
I no longer go to this gym and I strongly recommend that no one joins.

Everlast Leigh the worst gym.

I've been a member for a number of years now, and the deterioration and lack of customer service or experience is a shambles.

So far the gym has had no air con for a number of months, there has been NO communication issued to us members on this. Just passive comments from PT's that it costs too much to fix, so is not being fixed. They implemented two small fans which took WEEKs to arrive, and have since had two useless air con units plugged in. If lucky they open the fire door every once in while. Imagine a gym thats too hot, and throw a whole host of sweat and dirt into the mix. It’s a hazard, and there has been member injury from this.

The gym doesn't have any deep clean procedures in place, occasionally I’ve seen someone walk around with a dirty cloth and spray and occasionally wipe a side. Note they do this during peak times. I've never known a gym that doesn't have a cleaning team come in each night after closing and gut the place. But the dirt I see there on Monday will still be there the following week. My favourite cleaning routine was a guy spraying the odd thing and wiping it, whilst walking around eating a packet of crisps. And forget about them having gel/sprays available for you to be able to clean it yourself, or anitbac your hands, last time I checked the "sanitising station" it was filled with dirty tissues.

In light of the above cleaning, most members now show little care of the gym, given the team and management don't so you'll usually be on a treasure hunt to find a dumbbell/kettlebell/plate you need, or if you are really lucky find some dirty tissue or empty bottles around the gym in its place.

The equipment is old, and usually broken for weeks on end, if its fixed within the month its speedy, but usually once its out of order it stays that way. Cables - broken. Machines that you should be able to adjust - you can't. Bikes/Treadmills out of order permanently. New kit/upgraded kit? Haven't seen anything in years!!! Benches - ripped, anything with a seat is usually torn or broken, and anything with broken legs they just prop up on weights and hope for the best.

Where do I even start with the team. There are 1-2 employees that welcome you with a smile and say Hello on the reception and more than happy to help and provide a base level of customer service. The rest, will look through you and actively ignore you. Their jobs are literally front of house, which means saying hello etc. Usually theres a few of them stood having a chat amongst theirselves moaning about something and actively ignoring anyone entering or leaving. My all time favourite experience was coming in first thing to be ignored by the team member on the desk, to see they were swiping online dating.

Let’s not forget the adverts 'v' the reality. The ads are now the upgraded gyms, which look like a gym should look, and supposedly Leigh has been next for renovation for the past 2-3years. At this stage it’s just further false promises, to string us members along.

At this stage, we have little option, as theres no gyms nearby thats worth joining. But I believe that will be changing soon, and there will be a mass exit.

All members would like is a functional gym. Which is actually what we pay for.

Avoid at all costs - Everlash Leigh Gym is a disgrace.
This place is an absolute joke of a gym. The air conditioning has been broken for five months — yes, five entire months — and in its place are a couple of cheap industrial fans that just blow hot air around like a heatwave is part of the workout plan. Trying to train in this place during summer is genuinely unsafe. It's like exercising inside a broken-down boiler room.
And that's just the start.
Nearly every machine is either broken, on its last legs, or mysteriously "awaiting repair" for months on end. You'll see the same "out of order" signs gathering dust while nobody lifts a finger to fix anything. Equipment failure isn't a rare inconvenience here — it's the norm.
As for hygiene? Forget it. The place is filthy.
There's no full-time cleaning crew, just part-time cleaners who magically appear when someone from head office is scheduled to visit. The rest of the time, you're on your own in a sweat-stained, bacteria-ridden mess of a facility. No sanitizer spray, no paper towels, nothing to clean machines — just hope the person before you wasn't a walking health hazard.
Customer service? That would imply there is ne. The staff don't greet you, don' icknowledge you, and in some cases actively g out of their way to avoid eye contact. If you do approach them, don't expect help - you'll get shrugged off or ignored entirely.
To sum it up: broken equipment, no air con, disgusting facilities, and staff who couldn't care less. Everlash isn't a gym — it's a health risk masquerading as one. Don't waste your money here. You deserve better!

This Everlast in Leigh is badly managed & not fully supported by the owners “Frasers Group”.
It’s so bad that the local council “Health & Safety” inspectors have had to intervene due to the reported concerns to them by staff & the gym members.
The numerous breaches of health & safety regulations have lead to huge financial losses due to payouts in compensation for injuries & fines. Plus increased insurance premiums, decreased productivity, low staff & members morale, increased employee turnover, & absenteeism due to staffs dissatisfaction with the working conditions, stress, anxiety & cancellation of memberships leading to lost of earnings.
This gym now has a poor reputation which has damaged its ability to attract & retain customers & employees.

With the low number of paying members this gym is not financially viable. It is simply not feasible to be paying out wages, rent for the building, the maintenance of the old machinery and equipment when the income is less than the outgoings.
This is the reason that Leigh Everlast have closed off the spa pools for the last three years in a desperate attempt to save money. The reason the machines are not being maintained. The reason the air-conditioning has been out of use for several months. The list is endless on the deterioration of this gym and it is obvious why.
Having previously worked at this gym for several years, I can confirm that most of the people in the gym are there on a discounted promotional months rate so that’s why the gym looks busy. The people are not full paying members.
The full paying members are not getting value for their monthly membership cost. This has frustrated me to the point where I no longer work for this company.

I now have lots of free time from this gym as I no longer work here, so I now walk my own dog in the natural air conditioning of being outside.
No more putting up with situations being escalated by those being(deleted by the administrator)
It’s important to remain healthy and safe to avoid closing down.
I’m having déjà vu, because just imagine being accused of something I’ve not done and a false representation of my behaviour and character being said by others. This couldn’t possibly be a repeat, hence the déjà vu.
How ironic but what goes around comes around that's karma.
I need to learn to keep my mouth shut and not do things under wraps and behind peoples backs.

Still no air-con after several month of not working, as such I’ve now cancelled my membership. I said to member of staff that they had no intention of putting air-con back on and she agreed by saying no. Apparently it is broken and the repair bill is 100k that they don’t have. Did weights today but came out of gym looking like I'd ran a sweaty marathon. The heat is unbearable and there are no windows for ventilation. Embarrassingly they have bought a plug-in fan that makes zero difference.
This is a serious breach of health and safety laws.

On social media IG after posting a "Your story", and on FB a "Create story" it allows you to see who has viewed the post. In my case, a member of staff at this Leigh gym was constantly everyday, every post was checking up on me online and sending me unwanted friends request.
I never showed any interest in this person, in fact I avoided them, even-so they continued and were also bothering me in person.
I also received text messages to my phone.
My number they had got from my gym membership account.
This caused me some concern. It got so bad that I can no longer go to this gym.

Everlast Leigh is being fully investigated for breach of health and safety laws due to putting the public in serious danger of harm.
The air-conditioning has not worked for months and it is sweltering hot to the point where people are passing out with heatstroke. There are no windows in the class studio or in the spin class. With no air conditioning it is unbearable.
Added to this the gym area is very unhygienic because they do not have full-time cleaning staff, It’s filthy.
It is long overdue by many years for a full refurbishment, but I am told by staff that they cannot afford it.
Save your money and go to a better managed gym.

It is very unfair that members are being lied to, and potential new members are being lied to by this Everlast Leigh gym. The facts are that the gym is not being (deleted by the administrator)and all the faulty equipment, machines, unusable Spa pools and broken air conditioning are not being repaired.
Everlast Leigh are still creating outright lies, false advertising, and if you are thinking that they sound far fetched and made up, you'll be correct.
The fact that they think it’s OK to fabricate such wild lies is now quite frankly laughable.
Everlast Leigh created a situation and they are now disgruntled at the negative truth being posted online by multiple ex-members because they do not like having negative consequences for their actions.
Avoid this gym.

This happened to me at Everlast in Leigh.
Every time I was parked in the car park listening to music before going into the gym, a certain woman gym member would open my passenger door and was enthusiastically very happy to see me and chat. The same woman would send me voicemails one to three times a day laughing and joking down the phone. She invited me to walk the dogs with her.
At the same time, she set up a smear campaign against me and told everyone that I was (deleted by the administrator) Clearly something very wrong with this woman and this unfortunate is a repeated pattern at this gym that is encouraged and supported by staff. I am no longer a member.

I’ve seen a decline in the running and maintenance of this gym. Buckets are being used in the men’s toilets under the urinals for leaking. I’m told by staff that over three hundred thousand is needed to replace all of the old equipment and machines, and to fix the broken air conditioning, music system, two unusable spa pools etc but they don’t have the money. There are no full-time cleaners so the gym is dirty.

As an employee at Everlast of many years, I’ve seen a decline in the running and maintenance of this gym.

Leigh gym is (deleted by the administrator), it’s badly laid out with multiple broken equipment and workout machines.
The air conditioning, ventilation hasn’t worked in months with zero signs of repair, and so as a result the gym is really sweaty, smelly and stuffy. Far too hot in the class studio with zero windows and no AC.
Too many people are getting free day passes so over crowded. This makes the gym look popular busy with members when in fact they’re not paying members. Worst gym in the area by far.

Only been using the gym for a few weeks, everyone seems friendly and it has a nice sized swimming pool

Leigh Everlast Gym FACTS -
No air conditioning for several months.
Too hot to workout and in classes.
Music far too loud.
Boarded up spa pools for two years out of use.
Several out of use machines for months.
Old outdated equipment.
Dust and filth everywhere. Needs a deep clean.
Buckets under urinals to catch leaks for weeks.
Faulty showers.
Rude staff.
Management don’t care.
Nothing is being done to improve this deteriorating gym.

I've been a member for 16 years and always loved this gym for it's spaciousness, free weights and steam room. Equipment does however break and doesn't always get fixed straight away. This has never bothered me as I use mainly free weights.
The deal breaker at the moment is the fact the air conditioning has not been fixed and unlikely to be fixed in the near future. Staff member discreetly informed me so. With the recent warm to hot whether it can bug me, especially when I go from a long day at work. It would be nice to feel cool when working out. This is my only complaint but I'm started to feel Ike I want to go elsewhere due to it. Such a shame as l've been a loyal member for so long. They don't seem to care about that loyal unfortunately.
