Responsibility

  • liaising with and processing information from staff, managers and directors to facilitate the production of asbestos survey reports
  • filing documentation using the existing electronic filing system, ensuring it is kept organised and well maintained
  • ad hoc admin duties as required
  • liaising with, and processing information from, other departments, managers and directors thus ensuring customer requirements are met

laboratory technician

Education

  • A-Level or equivalent
  • bachelor's

Responsibility

  • carrying out chemical analyses, with a focus on soil and water testing, in accordance with UKAS and internal quality standards
  • performing microbiological analysis in accordance with ISO 17025, our management system, and in-house methods
  • maintaining accurate and organised laboratory records and documentation
  • ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory environment
  • maintaining laboratory standards through general tasks such as cleaning, stock checks, waste disposal, and monitoring air and temperature levels
  • preparing and conducting quality control checks on media to ensure accuracy in testing
  • using and maintaining laboratory equipment, with support from technical staff
  • assisting with calibration, servicing, and record-keeping for laboratory equipment
