Responsibility
- there is a kitchen garden, formal ornamental gardens and a woodland, a stream area and a wild flower meadow
- the post-holder will report to the Head Gardener and support her and the team in developing and maintaining the gardens
- this will entail weeding flower beds, pruning of shrubs, edging of beds as weekly tasks
- annual tasks such as planting of bulbs, annuals, perennials, shrubs and their subsequent care
- seasonal tasks will include leaf collecting and some hedge cutting
- the estate is a 25 minute walk away from Theale Train Station or you can get off the bus at a bus stop in Deadman’s Lane which is almost opposite the Lodge gates leading into the estate. If you drive a car there is parking on site provided
- the post holder will need to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- we manage 9 acres of gardens surrounding the main house and are responsible for maintaining other areas on the estate such as the Long drive and the village hall
