laboratory technician
Responsibility
- responsibility for all aspects of quality control, including production sample testing, data recording and reporting, and maintaining data records
- summarising and presenting results, analysing data, preparing reports and proposing process improvements to internal stakeholders
- preparation of shipments to customers or partners including preparing the CoAs
- performing equipment maintenance and calibration, working with the Lab Manager
- assisting with Goods Incoming checks as needed
- conduct laboratory analytical tests to assess performance of the materials. This will include using equipment such as XRD, SEM, PSD, BET and also conducting electrochemical performance tests on coin cell batteries
- supporting further implementation of, and using ISO9001 processes for scale-up and production of battery materials for example, by writing and updating SOPs, assisting with corrective and preventative actions
- assisting with calibration and maintenance of equipment for scaling up the production of advanced battery materials
Requirements
- minimum of 3 A-levels or equivalent at least one or two science based
- experience in materials characterisation, particularly XRD, PSD, SEM etc
- excellent laboratory skills, including maintaining a lab notebook, databases and good housekeeping
- experience in following good occupational health and safety practices
- experience in GLP
- minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a lab technician or similar, ideally in a chemistry or materials lab environment
- laboratory technician or similar: 3 years
