• managing the peer review process, including referee selection and efficient handling of papers at every stage using the publishing database
• manage referee pools and referee performance
• ensure copy flow is maintained and papers are published as quickly as possible to a high standard of quality

• work with the Journal Manager and the Editorial Board in support of the journal, participating in Editorial Board meetings
• ensure excellent author service at all times
• prioritise, plan and manage own workload and deliver to deadlines

Requirements

• good organisational skills
• interest or some background in science/cancer/health/biology
• excellent attention to detail in general

• two to three years of work experience in STM publishing
• good IT skills
• open to learn new skills as the role may expand
• experience of completing objectives to timescales
• interest in academic publishing
• educated to degree level
• customer service: 1 year
• administrative experience: 1 year
