Requirements
- certification in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC ductwork, or welding
- familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- forklift or crane operator certification is an advantage
- strong verbal and written communication skills, able to liaise with internal teams and senior management
- proven experience in managing teams, with excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- at least 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, specifically in HVAC ductwork, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
Responsibility
- procurement Coordination: Work closely with the procurement team to ensure the timely acquisition of materials and supplies
- health & Safety Enforcement: Uphold workplace safety standards by enforcing safe work practices and ensuring the correct use of personal protective equipment
- cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies, driving profitability without compromising quality
- inventory Control: Oversee the inventory of raw materials, tools, and workshop equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels and timely reordering to avoid production delays
- maintenance & Equipment Care: Ensure that all workshop machinery and tools are properly maintained and serviced to maintain optimal performance
- budget Monitoring: Manage and track production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, ensuring the workshop operates within budgetary limits
