Responsibility
- to undertake research on the use of armed drones, autonomous weapons and the militarisation of space
- to write and produce accessible articles and briefings based on the research undertaken
- to undertake campaign activity to limit the harms caused by armed drones, autonomous weapons and the militarisation of space
- to undertake appropriate speaking engagements on behalf of DWUK
- to network with other researchers and campaigners working on these issues
- to work collaboratively with the staff team to set priorities and to develop existing and future research projects and campaigns
- to undertake tasks as directed by the Director to ensure the smooth running of the organisation
- we are looking for a passionate and committed individual with experience of research and campaigning, preferably in peace and human rights field, to join our small team
Requirements
- A degree, preferably to Master’s level, or equivalent experience in a subject area relevant to the post
- strong research and/or campaign experience, preferably in the peace and security/human rights sector or similar field
- willingness to learn new skills and work co-operatively with others to build strong campaigns
- understanding of the on-going debate around the use of armed drones, autonomous weapons and/or militarisation of space
- familiarity with national and international security issues and institutions
- excellent writing and communication skills
- ability to work well to deadlines
- commitment to the aims and objectives of Drone Wars UK
