Responsibility

  • to manage all operational activity according to the strategic direction provided by the committee and Directors
  • to be responsible for planning and delivering a range of activities and services
  • to have overall responsibility for HR aspects of staff including recruitment, retention, supervision, training, timesheet completion and authorisation and, in conjunction with the Volunteer Co-ordinator, the management of Volunteers
  • to act as the main keyholder and point of contact with the property managers for Unit 18 and to be the on-site keyholder and responsible person during Dover Big Local CIC’s allocated days for use of Unit 3
  • to have key role in bringing to fruition the outputs and outcomes defined in Dover Big Local CIC’s Reaching Communities funding agreement, and other deliverables defined in complementary contracts and agreements
  • to ensure that the hub is open and staffed, using paid and/or appropriate volunteers, during all core hours . In addition to ensure that groups that are booked outside of these hours
  • wherever possible to avoid lone working by staff and volunteers that are on duty to cover reception and assist other users of the 3 units
  • to work in partnership with external partners to drive awareness, identify beneficiaries and engage with the wider community

Education

  • A successful Hubs Manager will be knowledgeable and skilled in operational delivery
  • the ideal candidate will be experienced in line management, operational planning, delegating, relationship management and budget management
  • educated to Degree level or with equivalent experience and with previous hands-on experience

Requirements

  • experience of contract and performance management
  • experience of managing staff and volunteers
  • track record in identifying and securing new funding streams and value in kind services
  • experience of budget setting and budget control
  • experience of providing information, advice and guidance services
  • experience of developing and maintaining partnerships with statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations
  • understanding of the current issues affecting the demographics and cohorts applicable to Dover Big Local CIC
