Responsibility
- lay bricks, stone, and other materials to construct or repair walls, foundations, chimneys, and other structures
- read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout and dimensions of the structure
- mix mortar or grout and spread it onto surfaces using a trowel
- use various tools such as hammers, chisels, and levels to shape and align bricks or stones
- cut bricks or stones to fit around windows, doors, or other obstacles
- apply caulking or other sealants to prevent water damage
- install firebrick linings in industrial furnaces or boilers
- repair or replace damaged bricks or stones
Requirements
- proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role
- knowledge of different types of bricks, stones, and construction materials
- ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- proficient in using masonry tools and equipment
- strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship
- physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time
- ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
