Responsibility
- have a child centred approach to the running of the nursery
- the Deputy Manager provides effective management support to the Nursery Manager
- assume responsibility and be highly visible in the absence of the Manager
- the Deputy must be knowledgeable in all aspects of nursery operation
- encourage and model appropriate behaviour and expectations
- in the absence of the manager, they have responsibility for the nursery
- ensure accurate and effective children’s records are kept in accordance with LG policies and procedures
- respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality
Requirements
- understanding what is important in determining high quality care and learning for young children
- lead positive relationships in the early years setting
- lead the promotion of health, safety and wellbeing of the children across the nursery
- lead the children’s development, learning and play across the nursery
- provide supervision, leadership and mentoring to the staff within the rooms
- childcare: 5 years
- be a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families
