Responsibility

  • the Contract Flooring Association is a leading not-for-profit trade body for the commercial flooring sector, with a reputable and forward-thinking approach, striving for improvement of quality and standards for our members and industry
  • as part of its activity the CFA is therefore heavily involved in training within our sector and co-founded The Flooring Industry Training Association to provide specialist training for the floorcovering industry including apprenticeships and privately funded training courses
  • we are looking for an experienced floorlayer in textile and resilient floorcoverings to join our small and enthusiastic team as a Training Officer working predominantly from our dedicated training centre in Loughborough Leicestershirebut also periodically from our Nottingham head office
  • the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering training to apprentice floorlayers, day-to-day supervision of the training centre, stock control and centre maintenance
  • the Training Officer will also support external training consultants in the delivery of privately funded training courses helping to maintain a continual programme across all the major “soft” flooring disciplines for both the commercial and residential sectors
  • the role will include working with the wider flooring industry including manufacturers, distributors, contractors and retailers in developing and delivering training to the industry
  • skills in planning and preparing tools, materials and equipment for floorlaying activities
