Responsibility
working in partnership with children, parents, carers and professionals
using mediation and negotiation skills to support young people and their parents/carers in improving their relationships
experience of working in a busy, fast paced environment with changing priorities
undertaking a range of relevant tasks and responsibilities as prioritised and deemed to be appropriate by the Team Manager, to support teams in fulfilling their duties
make sound recommendations based on the referral information received in line with the Hampshire Safeguarding Children Board and Children's Trust Thresholds Chart and confidently identify the risks and strengths
Requirements
you will have a good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and young people
be able to identify risks that impact on their well-being and safety
we are recruiting for a SWA on behalf of Hampshire covering the Fareham & Gosport area
experience of working with children, young people and families in a safeguarding environment
good verbal and written communication skills are desirable as is the ability to engage with children, families and professionals
literacy, numeracy and I.T. skills are essential part of the role
