Responsibility

  • ● Provide support to young people whilst at the same time encouraging and promoting their independence
  • ● To be an attentive and active listener for young people to express their wishes and feelings
  • ● To ALWAYS maintain professional boundaries
  • ● To report all concerns to management, even if in doubt report your concerns
  • ● To report a young person missing following organisational procedures
  • ● To encourage young people to engage in recreational activities both inside/outside the placement, including sporting activities
  • ● Support young people to do grocery shopping, prepare meals, budgeting and financial
  • ● To work alone with young people in the placement using your own initiative to facilitate each appointment with each young person or when doing a group session with young people i.e. speakeasy forum or residence meeting

Requirements

  • ● You must have at least 1 year of experience working with children and young people
  • ● The role requires staff to work 12 hours per shift. There are part time and full time roles available
  • ● Attendance to staff meetings and training
  • ● You will be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
  • ● You should hold an NVQ level 3 in working with children and young people or in health and social care or the equivalent. If you do not have an NVQ you should be willing to complete the course
  • youth Work: 1 year
  • ● Must adhere to the statement of purpose of the organisation's current policies and procedures. You must also follow the strict covid-19 guidelines set out by the government
