Responsibility
- ensure the highest level of bird welfare and biosecurity is maintained in accordance with legislative and assurance scheme standards
- general farm duties and site maintenance
- accurately complete relevant records
- vaccinations administration
- alarm/ holiday cover
- this role involves supporting the Farm Manager and our farm workers with the day to day duties of an modern broiler farm and biomass fuel enterprise
- telehandler and tractor operation
- working in poultry houses – Manage and monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter and lighting within the agreed standards, ensuring the highest quality conditions are provided
Requirements
- good organisation, communication and time management
- high levels of attention to detail with a proactive mind set
- an interest in livestock/ farming or a desire to pursue a career in agriculture
- be flexible and proficient in understanding instructions
- the aptitude to gain new knowledge and skills
- able and willing to work as a team and alone
- farm, poultry or tractor experience would be preferred, but not essential as all training can be provided
