Responsibility
- the following are the core responsibilities of the medical secretary
- liaising with external agencies and patients, such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently
- manage enquires in an effective manner

- scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records as required
- input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
- process referrals using the electronic referral system
- answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- manage administrative queries as necessary
- maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
- support the secretarial team, providing cover during staff absences in respect of sickness or annual leave
- there may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: Typing letters, reports, referrals and associated documentation as required
- perform any other tasks requested by the Partners and Management team
Requirements
- administrative: 1 year
- strong IT skills, including audio typing: 1 year
- effective time management : 1 year
