Responsibility
- develop system designs from customer specifications, security, and fire strategies
- write up designs into Design Specifications and supporting design documentation
- undertake calculations required to validate system designs
- assist with development of designs in accordance with standards and codes of practice
- maintain up to date information for teamwork schedule
- respond to customer design enquiries
- attend new works handover meetings with relevant stakeholders
- attend external customer design meetings
Requirements
- FIA Level 3 Fire Detection and Alarm Advanced Designer, or equivalent
- BS5839 all parts – experience in applying design spacing and overall recommendations of the codes of practice
- technical writing skills
- communicating technical knowledge in a clear, concise and understandable manner
- further education: A levels, NVQ L3, BTEC, HND, HNC, degree
- design and costing of new Fire Alarm installations including but not exclusive to the use of CTec, Advanced, Apollo & Hochiki equipment and associated systems controls theory for above systems
