Requirements
- understand wire drawing die geometry
- knowledge of die or toolmaking processes
- knowledge of wiredrawing or similar processes
- ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- competent in the use of optical measuring tools / equipment, e.g., microscope, digital micrometer and laser micrometer
- basic computer skills for data entry purposes
- laboratory Testing: 1 year
- in this dual role, the Laboratory Technician role involves assisting the Quality Department in the evaluation, inspection and testing of the products manufactured at CWI
Responsibility
- archiving and Filing of Samples in line with internal procedures
- conduct NDT checks on spooling shafts in line with internal procedures
- walking the floor to collect samples from the shop floor, communicate with the operators on any issues present and liaise test results with the operators
- carry out mechanical property testing on intermediate and finished products before despatch and record the results on spreadsheets
- complete required paperwork
- ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines
