residential support worker
Responsibility
- as a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people within a residential setting
- provide day-to-day care and support to young people in the home
- assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans
- promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of young people
- encourage positive behaviors and help young people develop life skills
- maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- participate in recreational and educational activities with young people
- support young people in their education and personal development
Requirements
- previous experience working with young people in a residential or similar setting is desirable but not essential
- NVQ Level 3/4 or willingness to work towards it
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young people
- ability to work effectively as part of a team
- understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- flexibility to work shifts, including a pattern of 2 days on and 4 days off, which include evenings, weekends, and holidays
