Working hours

Responsibility

  • producing 3D CAD drawings in Solidworks to support the sales team in securing an order
  • producing fabrication drawings, Bills of Quantities and Cutting Lists for the manufacturing team
  • ordering profiled material from the profilers
  • helping develop new manufacturing concepts to make the production process more efficient
  • communicating with clients and make amendments to drawings as required
  • documenting agreed manufacturing principles and develop Solidworks templates
  • producing detailed 3D plan, elevation and fixing drawings for clients to sign off. This may include utilising existing file libraries or developing entirely bespoke product designs including using data from site laser scans
  • assisting in the development of new patterns and designs

Requirements

  • previous experience in product design for manufacturing
  • at least 2-3 years’ experience working with Solidworks -essential
  • experience of 3D Scanners and utilising point cloud data would be advantageous
  • solidWorks: 2 years
  • the ability to learn and adjust quickly to specific fabrication/manufacturing principle
