Responsibility
- as a BUILDING SURVEYOR, you'll prepare detailed reports, identify defects, and provide expert guidance on repair, maintenance, and restoration options
- your projects will encompass existing buildings, architecturally significant structures, historic properties, and new developments
- your role will also involve promoting sustainability and implementing preventative measures to ensure the long-term health of buildings
- ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule
- advise clients on project requirements and schemes
- develop scheme designs with cost estimates, project timelines, and work specifications
- organize tender documents and offer guidance on contractor selection, design teams, and procurement routes
- assess the condition of existing buildings, analyse defects, and propose repair solutions
Requirements
- A degree in building surveying and chartered status with RICS
- technical knowledge and competence
- commercial awareness with a focus on adding value to clients' businesses
- A valid driver's license, typically essential for design roles
- problem-solving skills and the ability to identify solutions
- proficiency in IT, including computer-aided design
- strong negotiation, presentation, and report-writing skills
- excellent oral and written communication skills
