Responsibility
manage the BYCS activities ensuring legal regulatory requirements and all other relevant policies are implemented and maintained
manage the allocation of the staff and volunteers ensuring the compliance of staff ratio meets regulation
plan and implement activities within the Young Carers Service ensuring each session is fully compliant and meets the needs of the client group accordingly
to comply with Financial Procedures and appropriate delegated authorities for the post
lead on the planning, promotion and development of the young carer’s services within the organisation, and in the development of the policies and procedures relating to such services
to promote and manage the overall work of the Brent Young Carers Service and to lead the development and implementation of existing and future plans for the service, promoting the needs of young carers to funders, statutory bodies and the wider community
ensure all relevant risk assessments are undertaken, recorded and meet regulatory requirements in all areas of this provision
to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and with Brent Carers Centre policy, paying particularly attention to the reporting of dangerous situations
Requirements
at least two years’ experience of generalist welfare advice work is preferred or the willingness to rapidly learn
advice giving experience
minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent
working with children and young people
to develop, undertake outreach and promote a service
knowledge of supervision and appraisal systems
working within a health, education or social care environment
