Responsibility
- ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of classrooms, corridors, garden, playground and common areas
- conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs, painting, and equipment checks
- identify and report building, furniture or fitting deficiencies to the Head Teacher/Office Manager and to undertake any remedial action
- overseeing the security of the premises, including locking and unlocking buildings
- assisting with the setup of rooms for various events, meetings, and examinations
- managing inventory and liaising with suppliers for the timely provision of necessary materials
- as Brabyns’ Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, security, day-to-day facilities maintenance & management and smooth operation of our School
- take meter readings, including Gas & Electrical where required
Requirements
- previous experience in a caretaker or facilities management position
- strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them effectively
- excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- good communication skills to interact with staff, students, and external contractors
- basic DIY skills and familiarity with maintenance tools
- valid driver's license and the ability to maintain the school minibus
- enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo the check prior to employment
