Responsibility
- providing exceptional antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to expectant mothers and their infants
- conducting regular assessments, examinations, and screenings to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby throughout pregnancy and childbirth
- offering professional advice, guidance, and emotional support to mothers and their families
- collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the individual needs of each patient
- assisting in the preparation and conducting of various birthing techniques and methods, including natural births, water births, and caesarean sections
- monitoring the progress of labor and providing necessary interventions to ensure a safe and smooth delivery process
- administering medications, injections, and intravenous fluids as required
- documenting all patient interactions, procedures, and observations accurately and maintaining complete and up-to-date medical records
Requirements
- bachelor's degree in Midwifery or a related field. A recognized midwifery qualification is essential
- valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- proven experience as a Midwife within the NHS
- excellent knowledge of current midwifery practices, procedures, and guidelines
- strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and colleagues
- ability to handle stressful and emotionally charged situations with empathy and composure
- proficient in electronic medical record keeping systems and basic computer applications
- flexibility to work in a rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
