This company will take your money and you won’t receive any work they send leads through and they are fully quoted when you get them so you carnt apply then you ring to complain and 10 days later they call you back to say they will sort it out but trust me they don’t someone is getting very rich off this scam I carnt stress enough AVOID
I had the same experience riped off for £490 and no leads etc etc
Thought this is genuine because they were quoting Wolseley & wren etc. paid £540. Didn’t receive any leads at all for a week now. It looks like they put some dummy leads for attracting me.
Reminds me of the Wolf of Wall Street movie، I paid £900 for pro membership four days ago, book a builder created a profile for me with the wrong phone number no matter how many times I spoke to them to correct the phone number to no avail, before I paid them They told me that we provide you with unlimited jobs, but now there is not a single job in the Book A Builder application, they only advertise, don't be deceived, all their words are lies.
Scam! Just a scam! I wish I have seen this before!

We have been with book a builder for 2 months now and not had a single lead at all will let the weather warm up a little to see if there is any change as this time of year is not to great for my sort of work.
Be careful with this company if you got time cancel they are crooks!!! This is my opinion they don’t give me n work for a year and the staff of them are very convincente to take your money.
paid £700 for year worth of leads & not 1 job come in, customer services are massive waste of time, no help whatsoever, please stay well away from this company

Don’t waste your time and money
They want nearly £1K because I didn't gave 60days notice i didn't want to renew, i cancelled the card i made the original payment tho
so this can be treated as a tip to resign. You have to give them 60 days notice if you want to cancel. Hehe, I just don't understand why, but maybe one of you should try it

Did you try to reach customer service/ customer care? You should start always there, they should help you with cancellation

I can't guarantee this 100% but there is always the option to opt out, blocking this option is simply illegal. Have you managed to quit?
Completely appealing, we were not allowed to cancel subscription last year when we received notification about automatic renewal. Customer service consultants are extremely rude and tell you they are too busy to talk to you and can't be bothered to pay attention to what you have to say!!! Total waste of money, they sent a notification about automatic renewal of subscription again today despite of me asking to freeze the account and remove automatic renewal on account last year. We have just called and the consultant was extremely unhelpful and informed me that he was too busy to send confirmation of our request of not renewing subscription! I will get legal advice and take legal action against this company.

When you phone them upon receiving the notification, they ignore you and charge you for another year. We have been trying to opt out for 2 years. The subscription is very expensive and does not provide any value for tradesman.
For carpenter jobs they list job request for customers asking to install one shelf (DIY type of requests) total scam!
This may not be the best solution, but it would be worth contacting a lawyer who will just contact the company. There is no possibility that you cannot opt out from something, there may be an additional fee, etc., but you cannot force someone to stay. Maybe if a lawyer called, they would provide an appropriate solution. I'm surprised you're paying for a service you don't want for two years

Are you sure that accusation of mis selling is the best here? I have doubts, because they can always say that there is little demand and that's why there are no offers or you are not chosen by those interested... but that's just my opinion, maybe I'm wrong
I signed up thinking this would be perfect for getting work(plumber). Turns out it’s the biggest scam and I fell for it. Took £500 and then an extra £600 with out me knowing. Reported with bank and got money back…. Avoid like the plague
It would be great if you could write how they collected this extra money themselves to warn people, and another thing is whether there were any job posts there or nothing?

From what I see, you pay not only to see job offers, but also to be in their database of companies. Then someone who needs a worker can find you more easily (or not hehe). Am I right?
Book a Builder is a scam organisation. They say that the service is free. When you sign up you receive a phone call saying that if you pay a fee of anything from £500 to £1500 you will have a personal manager who will direct the kind of work you want and a all singing all dancing service. What you get is nothing. You find out you have signed up to a on line directory that is as much use bent two (deleted by the administrator) bit. When you try and ask for your money back there is a disclaimer saying that they will not honour any agreement that has been made by one of their sales team. My legal team is looking into the legality of this statement with the result of a possible prosecution.
So watch out for the My Builder scam
If you check this company and PALACE MEDIA LIMITED, owned by the same person, with the company house uk, you'll be shocked.
Very pleased with quality, value for money and speed of work.
Replaced my garage roof, gutter and facials. Team was polite and efficient.

Same happend to me as a joiner,made a claim to my bank and the bank gave my money back,book a builder didn't deliver on their end of the contract
Absolutely dreadful, promised loads of work in my area. This didn't happen, I had one job in a year which paid £120 . They fleeced me for £400 then a rep contacted me to say I can upgrade to commercial work for another £400. This was an absolute lie. I've never received any of this work. If you're a gas engineer please avoid at all costs. They use their affiliation with Wolseley to give themselves some kind of standing in the industry. Total rubbish, I will never join one of these companies again. Complete and utterly (deleted by the administrator).

My personal opinion is stay away from them. ONE Year ago when I joined I have read a bad reviews for them and I did ignore them!!Wish I didn't now...Stay away!!!

Yes,you can call them and ask to cancel the contract because they broke it and ask your bank to investigate them, their company is set as dormant

Signed to work with book a builder. They advertised that they get a decent amount of jobs and advertise your company with a portfolio.
Complete waste of money and time. Barely any jobs are given and when it is, it’s always listed as unavailable. They encourage you to upgrade by your account and pay near half the price it was to sign up to receive more leads rather than give you any obviously acceptable amount of work. The supposed portfolio and ‘advertisement’ is just whatever amount of views on your profile which is a ridiculously low amount. In the space of a month only 3 views which we paid £800 for!!
No option to cancel they just take your money and come up with excuses as to why there are no jobs and you’re forced to stay associated with their company regardless of if you are satisfied with their service.
Honestly very disappointed and would not recommend to companies looking to expand their work intake.

Poor Workmanship caused by two supposed bathroom fitters who totally wrecked my bathroom and didn’t have a clue what they were doing. The one was as dull as a brush and told my daughter he v xx maimed Disability Benefit, had 25 children and hired a private jet for holidays. If only he’d gone the talking when they came to see me I’d have seen straight away that he was A Fruit Loop and never engaged them. A £900 job is now going to cost several thousand to fix. Please be careful as I wouldn’t want anyone else going through what I have.
