Requirements

  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Care or equivalent
  • at least 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a day nursery setting
  • A thorough knowledge of the EYFS framework, and experience of planning and delivering a curriculum that meets its requirements
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members
  • strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage a budget
  • A willingness to participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills
  • nursery: 1 year
  • nursery experience: 1 year

Responsibility

  • maintaining accurate records, including attendance registers, accident and incident reports, and safeguarding concerns
  • ensuring that the room is clean, safe, and well-maintained, with appropriate resources and equipment that meet health and safety requirements
  • managing the budget for the room, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively
  • planning and implementing a varied and engaging curriculum that supports children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • supporting the development of the wider nursery, including participation in training and staff meetings
  • leading a team of Early Years Practitioners, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure that all staff members are meeting their professional standards and following policies and procedures
  • building positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring that they are kept informed of their child's progress and involved in their learning
  • conducting regular observations, assessments, and progress reports on each child in your care, and using this information to plan for their ongoing development
