Responsibility
- perform main engine overhauls and fault finding for engines such as Cummins, Volvo, and Scania
- overhaul and troubleshoot marine gearboxes including Heimdal, Reintjes, Scana Volda, Twin Disc, and Hundested
- conduct marine pipework and bilge system maintenance, including pump overhauls for Desmi, Jabsco, Johnson, and Azcue
- overhaul tailshafts and rudders, with experience in sealing arrangements such as deep-sea seal types
- remove and reinstall engines and gearboxes, ensuring proper alignment
- carry out MCA and Lloyds repair work, including valve overhauls
- perform various other marine ancillary repairs as required
Requirements
- proven experience in marine engineering, particularly with the specified engines and gearboxes
- strong knowledge of marine pipework, bilge systems, and pump overhauls
- experience with tailshaft and rudder overhauls and sealing arrangements
- familiarity with MCA and Lloyds repair standards
- alignment experience is preferred
- marine engineering: 5 years
- peterhead: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
