BATFORD DAY CARE is looking for employees for positions:

chef/cook

Working hours

  • full-time

Responsibility

  • to be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen
  • to plan menus, taking into account the day care budget, the foods in season, local availability and nutritional requirements for children
  • to prepare and serve appropriate food for babies
  • to adhere to the ‘Safer food better business’ food hygiene standards and record keeping and complete risk assessments in the kitchen
  • have a minimum of level 2 food hygiene qualification or certified equivalent and have a sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP and COSHH requirements
  • liaise with the Day Care Manager termly to create/adapt nursery menus
  • to prepare a freshly cooked lunch and teatime meal including a dessert for nursery staff to serve to the children in our care
  • the chef must also provide suitable alternatives to accommodate children with allergies, medical conditions, particular dietary requests and those who observe religious beliefs and label these carefully following our policies and procedures
