Working hours

  • full-time

Responsibility

  • typical working hours are around 630am - 430pm, though these are by no means set in stone, with some flexibility required
  • baldwins Grab & Tipper Hire are seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Tipper Driver to work from our yard in Long Eaton, travelling sites predominantly across the East Midlands
  • we supply construction sites with stones and soils from quarries & recycling centres across the region, along with removing soils and hardcore from sites and tipping at landfills using our 8 wheeler 32T rigid tippers which are loaded by 360 excavators, loading shovels or belts
  • A typical day may consist of travelling to multiple quarries collecting stone and delivering to various sites, or making several trips of the same run removing waste soil from a job, which can sometimes run for several days/weeks
  • due to the nature of the work drivers must have an abundance of common sense and remain switched on at all times when navigating tight construction sites and ensuring the truck is positioned safely prior to tipping off a load, with PPE to be worn whenever exiting a vehicle whilst on site
  • whilst tipper experience isn't essential, we do require someone who is used to driving HGV's in similar environments. Full training will be provided

Requirements

  • be able to commute to Long Eaton for the required start time
  • be punctual
  • have at least 2 years experience of driving HGV's
  • be able to complete paperwork to required standards including order tickets and compliance documentation
  • be responsible for the ongoing safety of your truck by completing daily check sheets and monitoring the vehicle throughout a working day
  • driving: 2 years
  • be able to act professionally and responsibly at all times when driving and when on site dealing with customers and suppliers
