- here at AIS, we have an exciting opportunity available for 2 branded Fashion Junior Buyer for Womenswear and Accessories and Menswear, to join our Fashion team based in Solihull
- attend budget planning meetings with our member stores to agree brand selection and range building, including promotional planning and buying
- working with the Senior Buyer, take ownership and buying responsibility of designated brands and product categories
- you will join us on a full-time, fixed-term contract for 12 months covering Maternity Leave, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary depending on experience

- develop effective and mutually beneficial relationships with member stores by making regular calls and visits to review sales performance

- build and manage supplier relationships with the Head of Fashion, supporting on negotiating favourable terms
- as our Fashion Junior Buyer you will work to the AIS and divisional product strategy to achieve a leading edge, commercial, sustainable, and profitable product offer, working with recognised fashion brands
- collaborate on brand strategy with the Director and Head of Fashion, Senior Buyer and Merchandising team, reviewing current and historical sales analysis, brand insights, trend and competitor research, for our member stores
- identify new suppliers to support the Fashion strategy, emerging brands, incremental categories, and products across good, better and best mix requirements
- contribute to the management of the P & L’s, have an understanding of financial principles and make decisions to maximise sales and margin
- contribute and work cross functionally to the overall division strategy by participating in product, brand and sales reviews with the senior team Propose and execute plans to drive sales and Cenpac revenue across the membership, focussing on initiatives that drive the best return
- build internal AIS relationships with all departments. As required, attend internal, regional and supplier and Member meetings
- demonstrate commercial awareness and product expertise through sourcing new products, brands and suppliers. Utilise industry resources to ensure we are leading edge in industry developments and trends
- attend weekly team meetings to review trading performance, store and supplier visits, product range updates, industry news and business updates
- work with the Category Manager to contribution to the management of the P & L’s, have a general awareness of its principles and make decisions to maximise sales and minimise costs
- keep up to date with the latest fashion trends, ensure emerging brands and new to market products and categories are proposed each season
- work collaboratively with the Partnership Manager in the areas of Compliance, Ethical Trading Policies, governing bodies
- using trade insight, create optimum good, better and best range construction to deliver commercial and profitable ranges, working to category budgets, commercial margins and critical path
- deputise on behalf of the Senior Buyer, taking full responsibility for the smooth running of the division in their absence
- make informed decisions, trend, market data, member feedback, industry press and trade shows, sales data, competitor landscape. Share insights within the internal product teams and to the member audience where applicable
- contributing and work cross functionally to the overall division strategy by participating in product, brand and sales reviews with the senior team
- in conjunction with the Category Manager provide a high standard of customer service by making regular Member calls or visits to build relationships, ensuring clear objectives are in place, understand target customer, review turnover, discuss rebate targets, store presentation, and recommend new brands and ranges
