Responsibility
- youth Support Worker is responsible for assisting young people in their physical, emotional, social, and educational development
- provide direct care and supervision young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort
- they work to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where Young people can thrive and reach their full potential
- offer emotional support and guidance to young people facing challenging situations or emotional difficulties
- support workers must ensure the welfare and safety of the young people they interact with
- ensure that young people maintain good personal hygiene and receive appropriate medical care when necessary
- aspire Supported Accommodation is a small business in the West Midlands. We provide supported accommodation in Birmingham, Staffordshire and are currently expanding
- maintain open and effective communication with young people, and colleagues to ensure the best care and support
Education
- diploma of Higher Education
- GCSE or equivalent
Requirements
- experience in the support of vulnerable adults, homeless people or people with substance misuse needs
- minimum experience of 6 months working with young people
- knowledge of welfare benefit and statutory service entitlements for the client group
- NVQ Level 3 in health and social care
- experience of working within a challenging housing and support environment
- the right to work in the UK
- knowledge of supported housing management
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
