Responsibility

  • manage and maintain a plot of garden space, including pruning, weeding, mulching, and soil preparation
  • fruit & vegetable gardening management
  • perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • prepare for and manage the growing season by maintaining a healthy plant life
  • manage pests and diseases in the garden
  • maintain the garden area by regularly pruning, mulching, and watering plants
  • adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • perform other related duties as assigned

Education

  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • previous experience in similar position preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in similar position preferred
  • able to lift objects that weigh up to 75 pounds frequently with reasonable physical effort
  • be able to climb or balance on various types of ladders and stairs
  • be able to work at heights from 10 feet to 50 feet above ground level
  • work in hot and cold weather environments, often outdoors, for extended periods of time
  • work in areas where noise levels can be high and have to wear appropriate PPE including gloves, boots, hats, face masks, respirator masks, and overall clothing as needed to protect against exposure to harmful chemicals in environments with high noise levels
