• overseeing credit control with Local Authorities

• supporting the Business Unit Directors with cost control and payroll management
• line management of a part time Accounts and HR Assistant who oversees the day to day invoicing and payments to suppliers and foster carers as well as providing payroll support
• acting as first line contact in managing our billing for utilities, telephone, insurance bills, rates etc
• fixed asset management
• year end accounts and corporation tax filings. Working with the Finance Director and our external accountants
• preparing monthly management accounts for each business unit and reporting for senior management including income statements with variance analysis, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts
• acting as the key point of contact for HR
• management of the payrolls for approximately 40 staff in the organisation including pensions and HMRC contributions and Private Medical Insurance.This involves ensuring accurate information is captured, there are processes in place to capture shift patterns, overtime etc and liaison with our payroll bureau is effective and well managed
• this will mean ensuring contracts and correspondence are issued to colleagues as required and new colleagues are onboarded appropriately
• budgeting and reforecasting support to the Finance Director as appropriate
• it will also involve working with the Business Unit Directors to ensure holiday and absence management is in place

Requirements

• organised with a high level of attention to detail
• experience working with cloud based financial recording software such as Xero
• track record of overseeing finance and managing budgets

• forward thinker who is adept with systems and keen to utilise accounting technologies where we can such as Pleo expense management or Rotacloud integrating time sheet software
