Responsibility

  • establish & Maintain Procurement Strategy and the annual Procurement Report
  • manage senior & operational and key centrally managed supplier relationships
  • support directly employed staff involved in procurement
  • advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for, and owned jointly by, all of Scotland's Universities and Colleges; we provide a wide range of procurement / supply chain related shared services both as a central team and embedded within our client Universities and Colleges throughout Scotland
  • we currently employ around 90 people, many of whom are based in Colleges and Universities but with some based in our regional offices in Stirling , Glasgow and Edinburgh
  • we are pleased to offer an opportunity for an ambitious and keen procurement professional looking for the next step in their procurement career. This is a strategically important role for QMU
  • undertake / oversee Contract & Supplier management in partnership with stakeholders across QMU
  • coordinate a procurement network within QMU of people involved in devolved operation procurement activity / procurement process gatekeeping

Requirements

  • excellent stakeholder skills
  • significant EU & PRA procurement legislation experience
  • circa £50,000 approx per annum
  • customer-centric approach
  • any cost-of-living increases are normally awarded on 1st August each year
  • good level of commercial acumen
  • strong understanding of sustainability / responsible procurement issues
