mechanical fitter
Working hours
- full-time
Responsibility
- to check components kits from Stores against the build specification
- to test pumps using hydrostatic testing, rectifying any problems
- turn down impeller diameters on lathe
- to move finished pumps in a safe way to the front of the workshop ready for painting
- to undertake any other duty as reasonably requested by the line manager
- to build full pump assemblies using components and other materials, includes drilling, grinding, tapping other adjustments and manufacturing small parts e.g. keys
- works within the appropriate company policies and procedures including health and safety
Requirements
- have previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or
- has a positive /teamwork / can do attitude
- hold a City & Guilds – Manufacturing Engineering
- methodical approach to work, proven ability to prioritise and multi-task
- can read and interpret engineering drawings
- previous experience of being a fitter in a manufacturing / engineering environment
- experience on rotating equipment
- good communication skills
