Must be experienced in using a fully automatic sewing machine, overlockers and twin needle machine, etc.- Must be able to sew on a wide range of materials, including fabrics, leather, vinyl.- Must have a general knowledge of upholstery requirements- Role includes sewing of settees, chairs, fixed seating, headboards etc.-Must be experienced in making piping, adding zips and other sundries.- We have a wide-range of customers from domestic to commercial, so experience working across both areas is required. Therefore the role requires a variety of products to be sewn each day. Upholstery Sewing Machinist Ashton-under-Lyne
Duties:- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications- Use precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accurate dimensions- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment- Monitor the production process to ensure quality standards are met- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve production processes- Assemble and weld components as needed- Use power tools and hand tools to complete tasks- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environmentSkills:- Proficient in operating Fanuc-controlled machines- Experience operating forklifts or willingness to learn- Strong knowledge of machining techniques and processes- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail- Ability to work independently or as part of a teamThis position offers competitive pay based on experience.
