financial controller
Responsibility
- management reporting – preparing monthly management accounts for the CEO and Board
- cash Forecasting – ad-hoc reporting to assist the CEO in strategic planning and optimising cash management
- statutory Accounts prep – preparing the annual accounts before they are signed off by the external accountants
- overseeing VAT returns
- ensuring financial controls are in place throughout the business and are being adhered to
- establish clear financial KPIs and reporting for the CEO and Board
- working alongside the CEO to prepare the annual budget
- managing the company’s tax returns, including R&D tax claims and patent box tax relief on Corporation Tax. Ensuring tax optimisation for the company and working with the external Accountants where applicable
Requirements
- ability to 'look beyond the numbers' and understand the wider business context
- strong analytical skills, able to identify and interpret trends and improve financial forecasting
- ability to work in a fast moving, growing business
- knowledge of Xero would be an advantage
- qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- experience of operating as part of a senior leadership team and providing a strategic focus for the business, both collaboratively and independently
- proven FC level experience
- management and Financial Accounts preparation
