Responsibility

  • you will need to be proactive in ensuring that the warehouse is organised and stock levels are correctly maintained
  • excellent organisation skills and an eye for detail are a must
  • we are looking for an experienced warehouse and logistics operative to join our marine manufacturing and distribution company. A full UK driving licence and a Forklift licence is essential
  • this is not simply a warehouse based role and you will be proficient in using a range of IT software to book shipments, get quotes and organise exports
  • likewise you will be able to deal with various freight forwarders and shipping companies over the phone to ensure that goods are dispatched at the best possible rates to arrive within the specific timescales required by our customers
  • the successful candidate will be a motivated self starter who can manage their own workload and ensure that daily orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time to meet the needs of our rapidly growing customer base
  • to succeed in this role you will need to work well both on your own and as part of a team as required
  • due to the varied nature and size of the packages being shipped you will need to be comfortable and experienced in manual handling of bulky and oversized packages
