Responsibility

  • we are looking for a skilled and passionate Head Chef to join our team at The Aleppo Merchant Inn
  • the Aleppo Merchant in is a busy country pub in the village of Carno in Mid-Wales and is at the heart of the community, the pub is under new management and we are looking to elevate our menu to provide outstanding wholesome food for our patrons
  • the successful candidate will be responsible for creating, executing and costing new and exciting dishes focusing where possible on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
  • you will be required to have a clear understanding of purchasing, budgeting and food costing, and be forward thinking to prevent wastage
  • you will be required to work closely with the owners but also be given creative freedom to develop an exciting menu and signature dishes while also maintaining classic pub favourites
  • our ideal candidate should have experience in a busy kitchen, be able to work well under pressure, and have a strong passion for food
  • you should also have good communication skills and it is important be able to work collaboratively with the rest of the team
  • we have the opportunity to offer the correct candidate the option of a 3 bedroom well presented property to provide family accommodation if relocating to the area
