Responsibility
- conform to and enforce the Company Safety, Health and Environment Policy at all times
- direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the distribution of cylinders
- confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
- to deputise in the absence of the Facility Manager
- ensure that the premises and its contents are kept secure at all times
- plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and delivery sequences to meet distribution goals
- report any failed deliveries to Line Manager daily during daily meetings
- monitor stock on a daily basis and inform supply depots when a trunk is required
Requirements
- previous supervisory work experience from a logistic background
- A working knowledge of the health and safety requirements of the HASAW Act
- knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits
- good standard of numeracy or literacy
- good standard of health and fitness
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- man management and understanding of a unionised workforce
- knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits
