- be a role model for the shops team, create a positive environment where staff and volunteers feel valued and motivated
- provide a work environment free of all forms of discrimination, harassment, where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and fairness
- support, train, develop and co-ordinate the work of staff and volunteers in the shop whilst encouraging an active interest in the work of Age UK Scarborough and District
- ensure security of stock and cash on the premises, report any shortfalls or discrepancies to the Shops Manager or the central office in their absence

- oversee and undertake administrative and financial procedures as directed by the Shops Manager including sales information, banking and volunteer records
Requirements
- previous experience gained in a retail/customer centric environment
- effective communicator with ability to deliver team messages, assist customers with their enquiries and resolve any issues that may arise
- basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and ability to identify potential risks
