In light of recent press reports on the handling of vulnerable disabled service users at Douglass House respite care and emergency accommodation for disabilities and complex needs in Plymouth, this has exposed the shockingly inadequate safeguarding and care that Plymouth City Council and their partners in health and social care have been providing.

I'm sure most would concur that it's worth noting that there are so many unpaid carers out there who are looking after a partner, family member, or friend 24/7, 365 days a year often in extreme circumstances with little to no respite because of the lack of help by social services particularly in Plymouth.
Those carers are the true unsung heroes, making the ultimate sacrifice unconditionally.
